Makeup Ideas And Tips?
i’m a thirteen-year old girl who is bored with the way i put on my makeup…any fun & cute tips that are age-appropriate? (for example, lined the inside of your bottom lid with white liner to make eyes look brighter, or winged eyeliner/eyeshadow, etc.)
a few things about me:
-i’m asian, so my eyelids don’t have big creases. they do have creases, but not ones like caucasian eyelids.
-i’m not allowed to wear eyeliner except for white eyeliner, ones in neutral tones, & a little bit of brown eyeliner.
-but, i am allowed to wear eyeshadow & mascara.
any tips or cute ways to do my makeup? or, any sites with tips would be great as well.
thank you so much!

have you tried really fun bright colors? at my school girls who are 17+ wear glitter on their eyes. (my school is pretty much all scene & kogal) white is good though, maybe you could try different colored mascara too.

Try just a bit of gold =]
Gold goes really well with brown eyeliner & you should try putting eyeiner at the root of the bottom lashes instead of the rim. It’ll make your eyes appear bigger.

If you’re only allowed to wear white eyeliner, then I guess you don’t have much choice – could you ask if you could wear blue or green eyeliner, for example & perhaps mascara of the same colour? I have never used white eyeliner & because my skin is pale, it would not do anything for me. If your skin is dark, then I imagine it would make your eyes stand out.
You could experiment with different coloured eye shadows. For example, put three or four colours on your eyelids, side by side & blend them in. That is quite pretty for going out. Whether it is fashionable or not, I don’t know.
I used to wear Max Factor Pancake make up to school, (long ago!) because it looks quite natural. I know they sell it in darker shades, as when I was 13 I played an Amazon in a stage production of ‘The King & I’. The Pancake makeup we used was very dark!
If you use blusher, I find the powdered kind is better than the cream & longer lasting. If you want to use face powder, loose powder applied with a piece of cotton wool & just pressed onto the face, not wiped on, is better than compact powder. To set the make up on a hot day, I just press it with an almost damp flannel.
For lipstick, if you want to have colour, buy one with a pigment that will stain your lips, otherwise it will just come off with the first cup of coffee. You can always put gloss over the top!
I can’t think of any other tips, but quite often in magazines cosmetic companies offer to do a free make up. The products may be expensive, but don’t let them make you feel you have to buy. Just watch what they do & enjoy the free consultation! Also in magazines you can see pictures & there is usually a description of the make-up used underneath.
Another tip is that cheap make-up with plain packaging is often as good as expensive brands. Advertising & packaging cost a fortune! Good luck – just experiment & have fun!
